A live showing of The Royal Wedding at St Peter Caversham! Come and celebrate with us on Friday 29 April from 10.00am. You'll be greeted with a glass of bucks fizz and be given an Order of Service. There's going to be a big screen positioned at the front of each of the three aisles, and you and the whole congregation can watch, join in with the hymns and feel a part of this grand occasion in the beauty of our ancient church. What is more, we are putting another screen in a family room should your children become restless. Demand to come to the event will be high and admission will be by ticket only*, so order soon. There will be no charge; you will be invited to make a retiring donation to help cover our costs. *Tickets may be ordered from The Parish Office 0118 947 1703. You can also email graeme@ctmparish.org.uk or write to The Curate, Parish Office, Church House, 59 Church Street, Caversham, RG4 8AX. NEWS RELEASE Join in the Royal Wedding at St Peter Caversham The people of Caversham are all getting their own invitation to be a part of the Royal Wedding on 29 April. The church of St Peter will show the service live on at least four screens from 10.00am with an open invitation to all to apply for free tickets. Bucks Fizz and soft drinks will be served. The Rev Graeme Fancourt, organising the day at St Peter, is installing three screens in the body of the church, one for each aisle so everyone gets a good view. A fourth screen will be set up in a family room, in case younger children need time to play. Copies of the Order of Service will be available to join in with the hymns, so everyone has the opportunity to take a full part in the Wedding, rather than just watch it on their own TV. Curate Graeme Fancourt said: "The Royal Wedding is going to be a great day of celebration across the country, with the whole world looking on. Watching the service on TV will be great but I reckon joining the crowd at St Peter and getting into the party atmosphere will make it a real day to remember. Our church has stood in Caversham nearly as long as Westminster Abbey has in London, so it will be easy to pretend you are at the wedding yourself." St Peter Caversham is on the corner of The Warren and St Peter's Hill, and looks forward to welcoming ‘wedding guests’ at 10.00am on 29 April. Tickets can be applied for by emailing graeme@ctmparish.org.uk or writing to The Curate, Parish Office, Church House, 59 Church Street, Caversham, RG4 8AX Pictures from Steve Jenkins
