Licensing of Jeremy Tear

At 7.30 pm on 10th March at St John's Church Caversham the Revd Jeremy Tear was licensed by the Bishop of Reading as Community Priest.

He will be working as part of a team across three churches, St John the Baptist Caversham, and St Margaret Mapledurham and St Peter Caversham. Jeremy's focus will be the part of Caversham around St John's and he will be working with the people of that church and the surrounding area to develop the life of the church.

The service marks the beginning of Jeremy's ministry in the community and a new stage in the life of the three churches.

Jeremy, his wife Emma and daughters have come to Caversham from Macclesfield where he has been a vicar for the last seven years and chaplain to Macclesfield Town football club. He said, 'I am looking forward to this new phase of my ministry and to serving the local community in conjunction with members of the three churches.'

Priest in Charge, the Revd Dan Tyndall said, 'I am delighted that Jeremy has chosen to come and work with us here in Caversham and Mapledurham. He brings a wealth of experience from working in other churches and I am excited about the developments that will happen now that he is in post.'
